Building a lifeboat

June 14, 2019

The children were watching the heavy rain outside our class this afternoon. They listened to the sound and noticed the water was collecting into a big puddle.

The puddle got so big we decided we might need a lifeboat to escape the flood so we started to build one.

We worked as a team to build the lifeboat, making a point at the front like other boats we’ve seen and making sure all the holes were sealed shut so we didn’t sink.

Then we decorated it.

Some children remembered if you’re on a boat you must have a life jacket so we helped each other to make those too!

We named the boat.

Some children decided to write a story about the afternoon.

A very busy afternoon for all of us!
