Visit from the bees
June 11, 2019
We were very lucky today to get the chance to watch 2000 honey bees working in a hive. Some of the children came to the library to have a go at trying to spot the queen bee and learn some bee facts.
We learnt that bees only live for about 6 weeks, they spend some of there time in the hive being either a nurse to the younger bees or a cleaner and that they do a dance called the bee waggle.
The children found watching the bees fascinating. Thank you Mrs Higgs for bringing them in.
