Christmas letters and a visit from Tony the postman …

December 10, 2019

Recently the children wrote and posted letters to Santa. Following this we had a visit from a postman called Tony who talked to us about his job and how busy he is this time of year. He delivers parcels to over 600 houses although he doesn’t deliver letters to Santa as they have to be taken to the North Pole, where Santa lives, which is so far away that the letters have to be taken there by aeroplane.  The children had lots of opportunities to ask Tony questions, some of their questions included asking him what time he has to wake up in the morning (5am!), how he carries all the letters and why postmen wear shorts even in the winter! After Tony’s visit the children wrote Christmas cards to each other and posted them in the class post box, which were then delivered to the children later in the day.
