This week we have been learning all about Bonfire Night – starting with watching a firework display video and then making a list of what we can see and hear on Bonfire Night. We talked about why we celebrate Bonfire Night and who Guy Fawkes was and what he did. The children then created their own firework pictures and thought about words they could use to describe them such as pop, gold sparkles, white sparks, fizzles. Later in the week we read a story about Diwali and learnt about a different celebration. The children then enjoyed creating their own rangoli patterns using coloured rice.
