Spring and Easter

April 8, 2022

We have had a very busy week in Cherry Class! We have been exploring changes now that we are in Spring, by using the non-fiction book ‘Spring’ during whole class reading followed by a walk to Eastwood Farm to observe any seasonal changes. We invited our parents in for the first time this year – everyone enjoyed watching a performance of our Easter song as well as engaging in Easter activities. It was lovely to be able to welcome everyone back into school. We were very lucky to have a visit from some baby ducklings who were only two weeks old! The children were very gentle with them and it brought a smile to all of our faces! We have been learning about Easter celebrations this week, the children have enjoyed acting out Easter stories with props as well as tasting hot cross buns and learning the meaning behind the cross. We received a surprise from The Easter Bunny and wrote letters to him. We then followed clues outside that The Easter Bunny had left which led us to some Easter eggs! We finished off the week with an Easter Bonnet parade where the children showed off their fantastic bonnets as well as singing our Easter songs! Wow, what a fantastic week we have had – Happy Easter!
