Broomhill Infant School

Special Educational Needs

Broomhill Infant and Nursery School takes great pride in being fully inclusive. Our nuturing school is a place where every child can grow and meet their full potential. We strive on providing high quality learning and teaching opportunities, having high expectations of attainment for every child regardless of barriers. Our curriculum design specifically puts the child at the centre and our highly skilled team enables learning to be driven by each child’s interests and needs. Every child at Broomhill feels and plays an active role in their school community.

We believe that every child is entitled to be treated fairly and treated equitably with consideration, courtesy and respect. With this in mind we have a flexible approach to ensure that we can meet the needs of the children who attend our school to ensure they have the best opportunity to succeed regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, religion or ability. Our inclusive culture and nurturing approach allows our children to take risks in their learning. We treat children as individuals and as a result, children make progress academically, socially and emotionally.

In September 2020, we opened the Specialist Resource Base classroom, Blossoms. Blossoms, offers families with support through the Education Health Care Plan process, the application for additional funding to support individual children and referrals for other professional support. We provide advice and guidance to ensure every child meets their full potential in an inclusive and nurturing environment. Our dedicated and highly experienced team meets the wide range of individual learning needs of children in Nursery through to Year 2.
