The children have had a great first term in Apple Class! We have explored several different topics including ‘What makes me Special’ and ‘People who help us in our Community’. We also learnt about Harvest, took foodstuffs for the food bank to the church where we sang our ‘Big Blue Tractor’ song and later made harvest soup and bread. To introduce our new focus book Owl Babies for this term we had a Wow Day! The children followed feather clues into the forest area where they discovered our new ‘Talk for Writing’ book ‘Owl Babies’. The children then undertook many owl related activities; they made chocolate nests, created owl masks, made leaf owls and explored the story sack resources. On Tinkering Tuesday, the children worked in groups in the forest area to construct dens for the owls ensuring that they were fox proof!
