This term in Sycamore Class we have been doing lots of amazing Maths learning. We have been exploring what we know about numbers and thinking about the skills we need to be brilliant Mathematicians.

Year 1’s have been making numbers to 20 and comparing amounts, using ‘greater than’, ‘less than’ and ‘equal to’. The children have really enjoyed using Numicon to represent amounts (and can’t believe they get to write on the tables!)

The Year 2’s have been exploring place value in numbers to 100.
We use our Numicon Wheel to help us count to 100 and we use Base 10 to help us partition numbers into tens and ones.
We have been working on knowing how many tens and ones are in 2-digit numbers and we are really confident with this now!
