Exciting first term in Blossoms class!

October 21, 2023

This term 1, The children in Blossoms have engaged in various exciting activities to foster their skills and creativity. The Rainbow Fish book has been the focus of their attention, and they have demonstrated their culinary talents by creating rainbow fish pizzas using tortilla wraps and a colourful array of toppings. They have also explored the world of colour and colour mixing, using powder paints and crushed chalk, and experienced the sensory input of rebound therapy – with bouncing, rolling and jumping on the trampoline.

In addition, the children have been actively involved in Mental Health awareness, learning about their emotions by making self-portraits and decorating biscuits. For World Animal Day, they have honed their fine motor skills, crafting hedgehogs using clay, pasta and spaghetti for spines, pompons for noses, and googly eyes. They have also enjoyed Funky Finger Friday, engaging in various activities such as using chunky tweezers to pick up pom-poms and practising threading using pasta straws and pipe cleaners.

Moreover, Blossoms children have been measuring objects around the classroom, using a height chart on the wall to determine who is the tallest in Blossoms. They have also independently utilised the trim trail equipment, bikes, and scooters to enhance their gross motor skills. Tinkering Tuesday has also been a highlight, as the children have built dens for their hedgehogs.

Overall, the children have had a fun and engaging term filled with many enriching activities!
