Term 4 – Peach Blossoms

April 16, 2024

The children in Peach Blossoms have had an amazing term 4 full of exciting learning opportunities. Our book focus for this term has been ‘Supertato’. We started off the term searching for story clues around the playground. The children worked hard to predict the story based on the different veggies collected and we then used these props to read our story. We have been learning some new vocabulary relating to our story as well as new Makaton signs which the children have been applying in their play.

It had been wonderful to see the children engrossed in many different stories this term, they have been taking turns to choose a book for our end of day circle time and have been enjoying listening, predicting and asking fantastic questions. It was brilliant to see their love for stories shown on World Book Day where we saw some amazing costumes!

The children have continued to engage and thrive in our weekly music therapy sessions. This has been a highlight of the week for many children as they’ve developed their attention and listening skills whilst engaging with different songs and instruments.

For our weekly cooking sessions, we have been busy exploring new textures and practising key skills including mixing, rolling, spreading (and eating!!) The children have worked hard to follow the steps of the recipe we use each week and have been brilliant at taking turns with each stage.

We are so proud of everything the children in Peach Blossom’s have achieved this term and can’t wait to see what they get up to in Term 5!
