Our First Term in Cherry Class

October 20, 2023

What a fantastic first term we have had in Cherry class! We explored the topics ‘what makes us special’ and ‘people who help us in our community’ as well as many other interesting areas of learning. We have made a short video for you to see a selection of fun filled activities, including our buzzing Harvest day where we cooked harvest soup, performed our Blue Tractor song and made warm crusty bread rolls. The children also attended a lovely service in the church to which they each carried a piece of donated food for the community. The video also shows our exciting visit from two police officers, the children trying on their uniforms and exploring their police car, they loved hearing the sirens go on! We introduced our first Talk For Writing book called Owl Babies in our action packed wow day. The children followed a feather trail through the woods and discovered some owl babies in the trees alongside the storybook. We made chocolate owl nests, owl leaf puppets and many owl masks. We then finished term 1 with an exciting Tinkering Tuesday where the children had to make owl dens, which were fox proof. We had some amazing engineering and designing going on as well as beautiful teamwork. What a successful term they have had!
