WOW Day!

February 25, 2024

For our WOW Day we had a fun day in class exploring eggs. In the morning, we compared an uncooked egg to a hardboiled egg. We described the eggs and the inside of them. The hardboiled egg was described as “wet”, “cold”, “soft”, and “cracky”. The uncooked egg was described as “gooey”, “smooshy”, and “slimy”. We had fun lacing eggs, decorating eggs, and painting eggs. Then, we had a taste of the hardboiled eggs! Some children loved it and asked for seconds and thirds! In the afternoon, we did an egg-citing experiment. We tested an egg to find out how strong an eggshell is. We balanced the egg and applied different amounts of weight to test the strength of the eggshell. We were surprised to discover that it took the weight of our entire packed lunches box to crack the egg! Then, we introduced our book hook story for the term- “Come on Daisy”. This term, we will be learning all about spring!
