This week the children have been scientists! One of our activities focused on our sense of smell; the children told us what their favourite smell was and then they tried to identify different smells from smelling pots. We then created a pictogram to record which smell from the pots each of us liked best. Another science activity linked to our Talk for Writing book Handa’s Surprise has been to match animal faces, describe the animals and discuss similarities and differences. We have also been nature detectives, looking for mini beasts and discussing why they live where they do.

Our Tinkering Tuesday challenge was for our engineers to find a way of transporting fruit from one place to another – the children did a great job of working in teams to create trucks some fantastic trucks!
