This week the children have been exploring portraits. We looked at the work of portrait artists Kehinde Wiley, Marlina Vera, Vincent Van Gough and Giuseppe Arcimboldo and discussed what we liked about each portrait and why. Before the children drew their own portraits they thought about which features they would need to add and created a list. The children went on to draw their self portraits using mirrors to help them see their own features. We were so impressed with the portraits the children drew – what fantastic artists we have in Apple Class!
