We had Tinkering Tuesday this week which we linked to the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch. The children created bird feeders for the birds that live in our garden and forest area. We were very impressed with the feeders they made and once they were finished the children hung them in the forest area. The following day the children were very excited to go outside and see if any food from the feeders had been eaten. They were amazed at how much the birds had eaten which was quite a lot! On Friday we went on a trip to Eastwood Farm for a bird watching session; the children created tally charts in groups of the robins, magpies, crows, blackbirds and pigeons they saw.
