Tinkering Tuesday this term was linked to our ‘Talk for Writing’ book Handa’s Surprise. The children in Apple Class were set a challenge from Handa to design and make a basket strong enough to hold 7 bananas. The children worked in teams and thought carefully about which materials would be strong enough and how to make it the right size. Each team then tested their baskets with a pulley system and discussed what we might do differently next time. Great work Apple Class!
