Computing

I think it’s fair to say that personal computers have become the most empowering tool we’ve ever created. They’re tools of communication, they’re tools of creativity and they can be shaped by their users.” Bill Gates

At Broomhill, we believe that children should have the opportunity to access computing in all areas of their education. We understand the important of being computer literate and ensure children are able to use computer technology including programmable toys. Children are able to use computers confidently and safely to research and support their learning across the curriculum. We put a strong emphasis on staying safe online and ensure that this aspect of computing is also shared with parents and carers.

At Broomhill we use Purple Mash both in our computing sessions, as well as to enhance other areas of learning such as digital art. Purple Mash is a learning platform where all children are able to access their own profile at home to complete tasks and activities.

We take internet safety very seriously at Broomhill and the children are made aware of the steps which they can take to ensure that they stay safe online. Should you need any assistance or information on internet safety for your child, please get in touch with our school office.
